For Parents Who Want New Answers

At Pediatric Interventions, we focus on biological and environmental factors that influence behavior, learning, and development. Rather than addressing behavior alone, we support families in understanding how nutrition, lifestyle, environment, and physiology may interact with a child’s daily functioning.

Families who work with us often choose to explore how everyday factors may relate to their child’s functioning, including:
Behavior and Regulation
Understanding patterns related to attention, activity level, or emotional responses
Communication and Interaction
Exploring factors that may influence engagement, responsiveness, and social participation
Emotional Balance
Supporting families in understanding stress responses, transitions, and coping strategies
Sleep and Daily Rhythms
Looking at routines, nutrition, and environmental influences related to rest and recovery
Focus and Learning Readiness
Examining lifestyle and biological factors that may affect attention and learning conditions
Social Participation
Supporting insight into how children engage with peers and their environment

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a systems-based, whole-person approach that focuses on understanding how different areas of the body and environment interact. Rather than concentrating on isolated symptoms, it considers how factors such as nutrition, sleep and daily routines, stress and nervous system balance, gut health and the microbiome, and environmental exposures may contribute to how a child feels, behaves, and functions day to day.

How This Approach Can Support Families?

Many families feel that, despite strong educational or therapeutic support, something still seems to be missing. Progress may feel uneven, slow, or difficult to sustain. By exploring a wider range of biological and lifestyle factors, families often gain new perspectives on how different systems may relate to their child’s behavior, learning, and emotional responses. Our role is to support understanding, help families ask more thorough questions, and provide structured guidance that can be shared and discussed with the child’s existing professionals.

Why Pediatric Interventions?

With nearly two decades of experience working with children with developmental differences and their families, we have repeatedly seen how biology and behavior are deeply interconnected.

What makes Pediatric Interventions distinctive is the integration of functional medicine–informed interpretation, deep experience in child development and behavior, family-centered, and practical guidance. This combination allows us to support families in exploring possible contributing factors that are often overlooked, while remaining grounded, cautious, and collaborative.

We also recognize that supporting a child means supporting the entire family system. Parents are not passive observers — they are central partners. We aim to guide, educate, and encourage families throughout the process.

The Pediatric Interventions Program

Our PI Program provides a structured framework that includes educational reviews of health history and development, discussion and explanation of selected functional laboratory findings, nutrition and lifestyle guidance, and integration with existing educational or therapeutic supports. Each plan is individualized and designed to support insight, clarity, and clear, practical steps for everyday life.

Advanced At-Home Lab Tests

We support families in using home-based functional laboratory assessments that look beyond standard screenings. These may explore areas such as digestion and gut-related markers, nutrient patterns, environmental exposures, and metabolic and biochemical pathways. The goal is to allow families to make informed, thoughtful choices in collaboration with their healthcare providers.
